Refund & Cancellation Policy
How cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are handled for consultations and services booked with Robert Legal Services Ltd.
Last updated: June 2026
1. Booking and payment
Consultations are confirmed once payment has been received. We accept payment by Stripe (debit/credit card), bank transfer and, where expressly agreed in advance, cash. By booking and paying for a consultation you confirm acceptance of this policy together with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
2. Cancellations by the client
- More than 48 hours before the appointment: full refund or free rescheduling.
- Between 24 and 48 hours before the appointment: 50% refund, or free rescheduling to a single alternative date.
- Less than 24 hours before the appointment, or no-show: no refund. The consultation fee is retained to cover the reserved time and administrative costs.
3. Rescheduling
You may reschedule a consultation free of charge if you contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Repeated rescheduling of the same booking may, at our discretion, be treated as a cancellation.
4. Cancellations by us
If we have to cancel or postpone your consultation, you may choose between a full refund or rescheduling to a mutually convenient date at no additional cost.
5. Document review and completed work
Document review, drafting and similar work begins as soon as payment is received. Once work has started, fees are non-refundable in respect of work already carried out. Where only part of the work has been completed, we will, at our discretion, refund the unused portion of the fee.
6. Statutory cancellation rights (distance contracts)
Where you are a consumer purchasing services online, you generally have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. By booking a consultation or instructing us to begin work within that period, you expressly request that we start performing the services immediately and acknowledge that you will lose the right to cancel once the services have been fully performed. If you cancel after services have started but before they are fully performed, you will be charged a proportionate amount for the work carried out.
7. Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed using the original payment method, normally within 5–10 working days. Refunds for Stripe payments are made back to the card used at checkout. Refunds for bank transfers are made by bank transfer to the originating account.
8. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer — most issues can be resolved quickly and amicably. Unjustified chargebacks may be challenged with supporting evidence.
9. How to request a refund or cancel
Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing to info@robertlegal.co.uk and should include your name, booking date and reason for the request.
10. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
